SUITABLE FOR FREEZING
SUITABLE FOR 6-7 MONTHS

BROCCOLI OR CALIFLOWER
(MAKES 6 PORTIONS)

1. Place 250g (9oz) small broccoli or califlower florets in a steam and cook for 10 mins until tender.
OR
1. Put in a pan with enough water to cover, bring to boil, cover with lid and simmer for about 6 mins.

Drain and blend to puree.

This works well mixed with potato, carrot or sweet potato.

SUITABLE FOR FREEZING
SUITABLE FOR 6-7 MONTHS

CORN ON THE COB
(MAKES 2 PORTIONS)

1. Remove the outer husk abd silk from the corn on the cob and rinse well.
2. Cover with boiling water and cook over a medium heat for 10 mins.
3. Strain and then remove the kernels of the corn using a sharp knife.
4. Puree in a mouli

OR

1. Cook 250g (9oz) frozen sweetcorn and then puree.

This is good combined with carrot, leek and potato or chicken.

COURGETTE
(MAKES 8 PORTIONS)

1. Place 250g (9 oz) trimmed and sliced courgette in a steamer and cook for about 10 mins until tender.

OR
1. Put in a pan with enough water to cover. Bring to boil.
2. Cover with lid and simmer for about 6 mins.

Drain and blend to a puree.

This goes well with swet potato, lekk, potatoe and leek.

SUITABELF RO FREEZING
SUITABLE FOR 6-7 MONTHS

PEA
(MAKES 2 PORTIONS)

250g (9 oz) frozen peas

1. Cover 250g (9oz) peas with water, bring to boil, cover pan with lid and simmer for 4 mins until tender.

(if using fresh peas, cook them for about 15 mins or until tender)

2. Drain, reserving some of the cooking liquid, then puree using a mouli.

This puree works well with potatoe, carrot or sweet potato.

SPINACH
(MAKES 1 PORTION)

1. Carefully wash 110g (4 oz) spinache leaves, remove the coarse stalks.
2. Either steam the spinach or put in a saucepan and spinkle with a little water. Cook for about 3-4 mins until the leaves are wilted.
3. Gentley press out any excess water, then puree in a blender.

This works well with potato, sweet potato or butternut squash.

SWEET POTATO, SWEDE OR PARSNIP
(MAKES 4 PORTIONS)

1. Using a large sweet potato, a small swede or 2 parsnips. Scrub, peel and chop into small cubes.
2. Steam the veg for about 12 mins until tender.

OR

Cover with boiling water and simmer, covered with a lid, for about 15 mins until tender

3. Drain, keeping the cooking liquid.
4. Puree in a blender, adding some of the liquid if needed.

TOMATO
(MAKES 1 PORTION)

1. Skin, deseed and roughly chop 2 medium tomatoes
(put in boiling water for 30 secs, then transfer to cold water. Then skin, deseed and chop)
2. Melt a knob of unsalted butter in a heavy-bottomed saucepan and saute until tomatoes are mushy.
3. Puree in a blender.

This is good with potao, cauliflower or cougette and a little grated cheese melted into the tomatoes.
